Admissions – Your responsibilities will include guest service, cash handling and ticket printing. You are the Guests first impression of Calaway Park!Campground Representative – Responsible for providing excellent guest service to campground residents, taking campground reservations over the phone, maintaing the campground store and acting as a representative for both Calaway Park and Calgary Attractions.
Department Captain – Responsible for day to day operation of assigned locations on park, assisting wherever necessary and involved with ongoing coaching and training of employees. Click here for more information.
Department Lead – Responsible for the supervision of 25-100 employees, working to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department through effective employee training, scheduling, recognition, payroll, department marketing, and team-building. Food and Beverage – Your responsibilities will include guest service, preparing various food products and handling cash.
Game Operation – Your responsibilities will include guest service, displaying prizes in an attractive and appealing way and handling cash.
Landscaping – Responsible for maintaining park grounds and green space, including watering, weeding, raking, planting and general care, Click here for more information.
Inside Guest Services – Responsible for providing excellent guest service to guests on Park, resolving guest concerns and providing excellent guest service on the telephone. Will be assigned projects on a daily basis. Click here for more information.
Parking Attendant – Your responsibilities will include guest service, parking lot safety and for ensuring that the parking lot is organized, efficient and safe for our guests. You will also be required to work in other operational departments on a daily basis
Park Groundskeeping – Our Groundskeeping department plays an important role in keeping the park clean and tidy. Your responsibilities will also include guest service (limited positions are available).
Retail – Your responsibilities will include guest service, cash handling and merchandise displays.
Ride Operation – You will be responsible for the safe operation of your ride and for delivering excellent guest service.
Security – Responsible for ensuring safety by maintaining a presence on park for guests, resolve park incidents using good judgement and provide excellent guest service.
Warehousing – Responsible for receiving and putting away shipments in a timely manner, delivering supplies to Park locations efficiently, and for ensuring the organization and efficiency of the warehouse.
Hours: - 8 hours/day, 5 days/week
Wage: - $10.00 or more, wage will vary depending on experience
Responsibilities: - Work in the Campground Reservations and Store - Provide Guest Services to the Campground guests including taking reservations over the phone and applying problem solving skills to a variety of situations - Establish a relationship with guests staying at the campground, providing information about Calgary and area tourism and attractions - Maintain cleanliness in the store, washrooms, and laundry area - Perform opening and closing duties and on-going operational duties of the campground - Cash handling duties

CONCENTRATIONS Human Resources, General, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Tourism
MAJOR ROLE: These positions are dedicated to supervising 25-75 employees daily (depending on the department) and focusing on relationship building within the team. Healthy communication and the desire to enhance the working relationship with young employees is a major part of the position. As well, safety; increasing sales; reducing cost of sales; on-going coaching, training and recognition; guest service; product quality; cleanliness; efficiency; Corporate Goals; Department Goals; and the Corporate Mission are included in the responsibilities.
WAGE: - $13.00 or more, wage will vary depending on experience
COACHING RESPONSIBILITIES: - Give coaching and feedback to all employees, positive and negative. - Complete all necessary recognition paperwork. - Provide input into department recognition programs. - Train employees in your department in all necessary areas according to specific training programs. Participate as a trainer both in group training sessions as well as small group or one-on-one training.
OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: - Be on time and ensure that all areas of responsibility open on time. - Supervise opening, closing, and on-going operation of department area. - Prepare for, schedule for, execute and supervise assigned functions. - Organize each location to run smoothly and efficiently. - Ensure department operates to maximum efficiency without jeopardizing safety and guest service. - Ensure the safe operation of equipment. - Supervise daily cash handling, float checks and cash reconciliations. - Participate in the organization of employee events. - Administrative responsibilities - Practice effective communication and listening skills. Apply healthy conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. -Make interactions with guests a challenging and productive part of your daily routine. - Handle guest complaints effectively, striving for excellence in guest service.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Previous leadership experience an asset - Must be a team player and enjoy working with a variety of people - Good organizational skills - Friendly, enthusiastic, and have a positive attitude - Ability to take initiative - Good communication skills- both written and verbal
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: - Must have own transportation to park
OPERATIONAL DATES: These positions will require the applicant to be available in April for evening training sessions. The position will be full time (8 hours/day, 5 days/week or 10 hours/day, 4 days/week) from the beginning of May until the end of August and will include some weekend work in September and October.
Hours: - April to August 40 hours/ week
Wage: - $13.00 or more, wage will vary depending on experience
Job Description The Park Grounds Maintenance Position fulfils the role of ensuring that the Park is attractive to the guests, and creates a backdrop to the Park atmosphere. While applicants do not need any previous landscaping experience, they must enjoy physical labour in a fun, family, and enthusiastic environment.
Responsibilities: - Keeping the park grounds maintained - Weeding, mowing, raking, watering, etc. - Limited construction responsibilities
Skills and Abilities: - Must be in good physical shape and enjoy physical work - Work outdoors in all kinds of weather - Take initiative - Team player - Strong communication skills - Work independently
Special Requirements: - Must have own transportation to Park
Responsibilities: - Assigned tasks on a day-to-day basis - Provide guest service relations to both internal and external guests - Operate Guest Service Office and On-Park Booth - Maintain a safe, clean environment for employees and guests - Perform opening, closing and on-going operational duties - Cash handling duties - Administration paperwork such as: checklists, logs, forms, timecards
