Ridership Regulations
Protect yourself while riding the rides by using your common sense and following all the ride rules as outlined by each ride operator. Share with others the responsibility for a safe and fun experience by doing these things:
Protect Yourself and Respect Others By:
- Meeting the required height restriction
- Staying seated and facing forward
- Keeping your hands and feet inside the car
- Securing all loose clothing and personal items, long hair, etc.
- Not eating or drinking in the queue lines or on the rides
- Following seating recommendations and policies
- Following the recommendations for your safety in regards to heart conditions, back or neck problems, pregnancy, etc. You should be in good health to ride safely.
- Not line jumping
Shoe Policy
For the safety of your child, a standard play shoe, which does not contribute excessively to the child’s height, will be permitted. Platform shoes that increase the child’s height are not permitted. Calaway Park reserves the right to ask that shoes be removed to ensure that a child’s height is not enhanced or manipulated.
Loose Article Policy
When planning your day at Calaway Park, we suggest you travel light. Calaway Park does not permit backpacks, purses, or any other loose articles on most rides. Items should be left in lockers or with a non-riding member of your party. Some items may be left on ride platforms, however Calaway Park is not responsible for items being lost or stolen.
Calaway Park cannot accommodate loose articles including cell phones, pagers, cameras, stuffed animals, purses, backpacks, umbrellas, wallets, keys, personal entertainment devices, etc. Items must be safely secured on you, or left in a locker or with a non-riding member of your party. Glasses and hats must be secured while on rides, as Calaway Park cannot recommend retrieval of unsecured items lost on rides. Safety Systems and Guest Restrictions
Rides incorporate safety systems designed by the manufacturer to accommodate people of average physical stature, health and body proportion. These safety systems may place restrictions on the ability of an individual to safely experience a ride. Extremely large or small people, people with casts, braces or prosthetic devices may not be safely accommodated by these systems. If in doubt of your ability to safely experience a ride, we urge you to consult with the ride operator or visit one of our Guest Service locations.
Ride Safety Rules
Many rides have rules, which will be communicated, while loading the ride and must be followed in order for guests to be safe while riding. Guests who are not following these rules risk harm to themselves and others and will be asked to leave the park. Season Pass holders risk losing their membership if they are not following the ride rules. For your safety, shoes and shirts must be worn at all times while at Calaway Park.
Other Policies
Ride Closures
Please note, that the Ball Crawl will be closed
every Monday during our full-time operating season
for routine cleaning and sanitizing. During part
time operation (Spring & Fall) the play area
will be closed every 2nd Friday & every 3rd
Sunday respectively. Other rides may be subject
to closure throughout the day for cleaning purposes
and Calaway Park will make every effort to re-open
the ride as soon as the standards of cleanliness
are met.
Headphones
To ensure all safety rules are heard, headphones are not to be worn at any time in ride line-ups or while on any ride.
Water Damage
Due to the potential for water damage, guests riding the Log Ride or Bumper Boats should leave cameras and other valuables in a locker or with non-riding members of your party.
Line Jumping
Our Line Jumping Policy states that anyone who cuts into a line of waiting guests, no matter what the reason, are risking dismissal from the park without refund of admission.
Preferred Seating
In order to keep ride line moving efficiently,
guests may not wait in line for preferred seating.
If a guest is at the front of the line and does
not want to take the next available seat, they
may go to the back of the line and try their luck
for the next ride.
Weather Conditions
Some rides may be shut down throughout the day due to inclement weather such as but not limited to, lightening, high wind, rain or hail. Which rides will close depends largely on the kind of weather we are experiencing. Calaway Park will make every effort to re-open the rides as soon as the weather returns to normal conditions.
