Group Sales - FAQ
Do I need to book my group in advance?
For group outings and meal vouchers, pre-booking your group is preferred but not necessary – pre-booking is faster
since you don’t have to wait for tickets to be printed and paperwork to be filled out. ALL catered events, boxed
lunches and Rent the Parks must be booked at least three weeks in advance. Credit Cards are required for all groups
booking in advance. All cancellations without 3 days notice or no shows will be charged a $50.00 service fee.
Do I need a deposit to book my group?
Catered events, boxed lunches and Rent the Parks must be booked with a non-refundable deposit (amount is based
on the group).
How can I let my group know about our event?
Your Sales & Catering representative can provide you with posters, maps and brochures in advance of your event to
use in informing your group of their upcoming event.
How
do I get my tickets?
Your Sales & Catering representative
can provide you with your tickets in advance of
your event so that you can distribute the tickets
to your group.
Groups booking a catered event or rent the park
are sent a separate admission and meal ticket
so that members of your group can come to the
park anytime they want during regular operating
hours. The meal ticket is required for entrance
into the picnic area and for food service.
When do I have to know how many meals my group is having?
If your group is having a catered meal or boxed lunches you will need to let your Sales &
Catering Representative know four working days in advance of your event of how many meals to
order and prepare.
When do I pay for my event?
Payment MUST be made on the day of your event. Calaway Park accepts payment by cash, cheque, credit or debit
card. An interest charge of 3% per month is charged on all overdue accounts.
Are
there other fun things that I can add to make
my event special?
YES! Calaway Park offers a wide variety of fun
options for your group event including clowns,
face painters, jugglers, fudge pieces or apples,
a scavenger hunt and discounted mini golf tickets.
Or purchase Calaway Cash for your group. With
Calaway Cash it’s up to you – eat, play or shop
at any food, game or merchandise location on the
day of your event! Available in $1 or $5 increments.
What happens if it rains on the day of my event?
When it rains, our rides and attractions continue to operate (though some may close temporarily during thunder and lightning storms). The park can still be enjoyed in a variety of weather conditions. You can grab a bite to eat or shop until the weather passes. Many of our guests enjoy visiting in the rain – lines of any kind are practically non-existent and when the family is dressed for it, rain can be a lot of fun! Rain gear is sold in our gift shop.
Groups who gave a credit card to confirm a group outing or group with meal vouchers and do not show without notifying Calaway Park due to weather will be charged a $100 cancellation fee.
If you have booked a catered event it will carry on as scheduled regardless of weather. If you choose to cancel your
event, you must do so 4 hours prior to your scheduled meal time. Up to 4 hours prior we will work with you to develop
a solution that ensures a win-win outcome for yourself and for Calaway Park. If we do not hear from you 4 hours prior
to your scheduled meal time, the event will carry on as scheduled and you will be responsible for paying for the full
cost of food you confirmed. (Please note, deposits for catered events are non-refundable).
If the park chooses to close due to inclement weather, we will work with you to re-schedule your event or to provide a
solution that ensures your group can enjoy the park at another time.
We appreciate having home/cell phone numbers in order to stay in touch with you on the day of your event. Can
my family or group use the picnic area without
booking it?
The Explorers & Traders BBQ
Outpost (located adjacent to the log ride) is
intended for private, pre-booked functions only.
Calaway Park does offer a variety of other places
on park where you can enjoy a picnic with your
family & friends:
- Grassy area located South East of the park gates
- West side of Hudstones store
- North side of Boulder Bumpers
- Next to Celebration Stage
- South of the Vortex entrance
- Under the Tower located near the park entrance
- Rocky Mountain Rail Area
- Behind Pretzel & Churros
- Across from Mind Blaster
For further information on where these areas are located, please refer to our park map or pick one up at Guest Services when you visit the park.
