What is the Working Holiday Program?
The Working Holiday Program gives students the opportunity to take a summer holiday in Calgary while earning money. You’ll have fun, meet new people and gain valuable experience in the tourism industry, which will improve your career skills.
Who can participate in the program?
To be eligible for the program, you must be at least 18 years of age and live outside the city of Calgary and surrounding areas.

What kinds of jobs are available?
Working Holiday Program employees will work in one of the following positions:
- Ride Operator - operate assigned rides safely and efficiently, provide excellent Guest Service, follow schedules, maintain a clean, safe environment for employees and guests, and work toward the benefit of the company
- Restaurant Employee- Work in the various Restaurant areas providing excellent, efficient Guest Service, following schedules, maintaining a clean and safe environment for employees and guests, and working toward the benefit of the company.
What can I expect when living in Calgary?
Calgary is a vibrant and fast-growing city of more than a million people. It is home to the world-famous Calgary Stampede and much more! In addition, Banff and the Rocky Mountains are just an hour away. Check out www.calgaryattractions.com for all the cool stuff to do while you’re here.
Where will I live while in Calgary?
We provide subsidized housing at one of Calgary’s university or college residences. Working Holiday Program employees pay only $200.00 per month for rent.
What about transportation to work?
We provide free bus transportation to and from work.
When does the program run?
The Working Holiday program begins in May or June (depending on the position) and runs through the end of August.
