RIDES AND ATTRACTIONS

All the rides and attractions at Calaway Park have rider requirements. These requirements exist in order to ensure that the safety restraints and devices are used as designed and to ensure that guests are capable of maintaining the proper posture during the ride. This guide helps to explain the tasks that you must be capable of performing in order to safely enjoy our attractions. After all, the safety of our guests is our first concern.

Guests whose disabilities do not allow the use of standard attraction entrances – and their immediate party (up to 3 additional guests) – should follow the procedures for each attraction, as found in this booklet. This may require entering the attraction through the exit. In cases where a ride must be stopped to ensure safe boarding for guests with disabilities, there may be a short waiting period to board the attraction. It is always best to contact the Calaway Park employee at the specific attraction before proceeding to the designated entrance.

Most attractions are accessible to guests in wheelchairs. However, in some cases, a guest may require assistance to transfer from his/her chair onto a ride system. Calaway Park employees are not trained in transferring guests from wheelchairs and, therefore, are not permitted to assist you. They will, however, provide direction to the extent that they are able. We suggest that you visit us with someone who can physically help you when necessary.

Accessibility may vary depending upon special conditions; Guests with casts, stitches, or who have undergone recent surgery are requested to ask about any limitations that may apply. Please ask for assistance from the employee at each ride or attraction.

All guests must meet all height and weight requirements for each attraction as posted at the ride entrance.

Guests with service animals should follow the same procedures on the attractions as those outlined for guests with mobility impairments. Because of the aggressive nature of some attractions, service animals may need to be left with a non-riding member of the guest’s party.

As we do not like to see any child upset, it is up to the parents’ discretion to decide if their child may ride this ride.

  • Parents are at no time allowed onto the Boulders floor. This can result in serious injury. If a child is stuck or unable to move, a ride operator will help them as soon as possible. If the child is upset and wants to leave the ride, the ride operator will do their best to get the child off the floor as quickly as possible.
